Microneedling

Microneedling (also known as skin needling or collagen induction therapy) is a type of treatment that uses small needles to cause tiny punctures in the skin.

These small contact points encourage the body to create a wound healing response and renew the skin cells. As your skin repairs, the production of collagen and elastin is triggered to give an almost immediate plumping effect. It can also help tackle other skin damage such as acne scarring, dark marks, sun damage, pigmentation and ageing (diminishes wrinkles).

Is it painful?

No anaesthetic is used (unless required) as the treatment is quick and minimally invasive with little discomfort.

What is happening during the treatment?

A customised serum will be applied to the treatment area. This serum will be based on your specific concerns, as discussed at your consultation.

Needle depth varies depending on your skin concerns and how comfortable you are. For different treatment areas, we may recommend different depths.

A cooling and hydrating mask will be applied to the skin. This contains active ingredients that aid treatment results and reduce downtime.

Any downtime?

It is possible that shedding of the skin may occur 3-7 days after the first treatment, some redness and irritation.

How many sessions do I need?

Depending on your skin concerns, we may recommend microneedling every 4-6 weeks for 3-6 treatments.
